Chelsea are eyeing up a surprising move for the former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.
The Mexican striker left Manchester United last summer and signed for German outfit Bayer Leverkusen.
Since his move to Bundesliga, the Mexican has been in impressive form and has scored 12 times already this season.
Alongside the likes of Calhanoglu and Bellarabi, Hernandez has been a constant threat for opposition defenses.
Chelsea are in desperate need of a striker and it seems Jose Mourinho is eyeing up a move for the in form Leverkusen striker in January.
Chicharito spent last season on loan at Real Madrid and scored some important goals including a winner in the Derbi Madrileno against Atletico Madrid.
It will be interesting to see if there is indeed any truth to this rumour. Hernandez has always been very respectful towards Manchester United and might not consider a move to their rivals.
Furthermore, the kind of form he is in, it is unlikely that Leverkusen will part with him. That is unless Chelsea fork out a ridiculous sum of money.
On top of that, a big money move for the 27 year old would make no sense. Despite being a good goalscorer, Hernandez’s overall play is quite average and he is more suited to being an impact player at a top club.
To sum it up, Chelsea can definitely do better.
