The trusted and reputed Gianluca Di Marzio website have reported that Parma who are having a nightmarish Serie A season have been denied to sign the 24 year old as Liverpool have responded with a ‘firm no’.
We had also reported a few days back that Liverpool are ready to battle Chelsea for £32m Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi but TMW have cited Tuttosport claiming that the player’s agent is set for talks with Inter for a contract extension till 2019.
There might a gap between Icardi’s wage demands and what the San Siro side are willing to give but an agreement should be reached soon as Inter will not sell their prized asset. New manager Roberto Mancini also believes that Icardi could be a leader for his team in the coming years.
The report also claims that Mancini is still interested in Lucas Leiva but can turn to Atletico Madrid’s Mario Suarez if he fails to sign the Brazilian. Lucas has been in superb form over the past few weeks and Liverpool have lost just once in their last 10 games when Lucas has started.
