Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal has identified Napoli midfielder Jorginho as a transger target for next summer.
The Brazilian born Italian has been a big success for Maurizio Sarri and is a key member of the Napoli squad.
Jorginho has been the main controller in Sarri’s 4-3-3 and will operate in a similar role for Van Gaal, at Manchester United.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Napoli would be unwilling to part with Jorginho, but Van Gaal has already got his men working on a potential deal.
Furthermore, the report also claims that Manchester United full back Matteo Darmian has been providing Van Gaal with important information regarding Jorginho.
The midfielder is supposed to be the long term replacement for Michael Carrick.
Despite the interest, Louis Van Gaal will need to ensure Champions League qualification this season in order to stand a chance of signing the player. Jorginho is also a long term target for PSG, who have been monitoring his progress since last season.
Carlo Ancelotti wants Premier League return
Former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that he is looking for one last adventure before drawing the curtains on his football career.
Ancelotti, who had a successful stint in the Premier League with Chelsea, is ready to return to England because of the atmosphere and lifestyle around football.
The Italian has been linked with a return to Chelsea following a poor start from Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese is under tremendous pressure to deliver and the link with Ancelotti will add to the increasing pressure.
Ancelotti explained that he is prepared to get back to work in January after a 6 month sabbatical.
“I would like to go back to the Premier League. It is the ideal environment not for football, but for the ‘game’ around football.
“You can work there with the right amount of pressure and with the necessary detachment and calm. Before I retire, I’d like to have another experience in England.
“Where will I go? Where they call me. I will talk, evaluate and then decide. Up until a few weeks ago, I was scared someone would call, but now the return is getting closer.
“Unless something strange happens. I am ready to get back on the bike in January”, he said.
It will be interesting to see if his availability will tempt Roman Abramovich to pull the trigger on Jose Mourinho, especially if the results don’t improve. More importantly, will he consider a return back to Chelsea?
