Over the past few weeks, Liverpool have been linked with a £30m move for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain. Mark Burton of the Independent wrote in the weekend that Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to bring the Argentine to Anfield which would well pave for Mario Balotelli’s exit from the club.
The report states that the Merseyside giants to desperate to bolster their attacking options with Daniel Sturridge suffering along term injury and with Balotelli drawing balnks, the void left by Luis Suarez’s departure is yet to be filled. The developments have come after Napoli bought Manolo Gabbiadini from Sampdoria last week which could trigger Higuain’s departure.
However, the Partonopei Riccardo Bigon has dismissed such claims as reported by the trusted and reliable Gianluca Di Marzio website from Italy. Bigon said, “Higuain? Him wanting to leave is out of completely out of the question. It’s normal that after the elimination in the Champions League there was some psychological repercussions.”
“After we passed that period we proved we are there quality and desire wise. Transfer period? It’s normal that a club with smaller revenues has difficulty competing”
.@Milford486 I don’t have anything on Higuain and Liverpool, but honestly I don’t see a single good reason why he would move there

Joe Short of the Daily Express was the first to break the news over Higuain’s potential departure. With manager Rafa Benitez’s future uncertain at Naples, Higuain could well be on his way out. Benitez had reportedly been been offered a two year contract extension but is not willing to commit till the future, till when he believes that a job might open up in the Premier League or the La Liga. In fact Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis had claimed that alternatives can be found if Benitez leaves in the summer. (Reported by Football-Italia)

The former Liverpool manager has also been linked with the vacant managerial position at Newcastle United following Alan Pardew’s departure but it’s certainly wishful thinking by the Magpies.

The Independent also report that Liverpool are also being linked with Sampdoria goalkeeper Sergio Romero as Reds manager Brendan Rodgers wants to bring in a goalkeeper who can bring in stability and calmness under the sticks. Gianluca Di Marzio staff Fabrizio Romano has some updates on Twitter over Mario Balotelli’s potential exit from Anfield. Rodgers is set to hold discussion with Balotelli’s agent Mina Raiola tomorrow.

In other news, Suso has completed his medical with AC Milan as he is set to join the Rossoneri on a free. Meanwhile Oussama Assaidi is set to be sold by the Reds to Middle East side Al-Ahli for £4.75m. Midfielder Lucas Leiva might also be on his way to Inter Milan.
