Jose Mourinho is however keen to add to his midfield and believes that Pogba is the ideal candidate out there. Chelsea are in desperate need of a box-to-box midfielder, someone who can contribute in attack as well as defense.
Fabregas’ lack of defensive intelligence has cost Chelsea this season and the last in big games. Therefore, Mourinho is keen to build a pivot of Matic and Pogba.
The Blues are ready to offer 70 million pounds for the France international and are also close to wrapping up a 40 million pound move for John Stones.
Chelsea are confident of pulling off a major deal towards the end of the window, it remains to be seen if Juventus can cope under the pressure and hold on to their prized asset come the first of September.
