Well, well, well. The Transfer window is just slowly heating up, if not already. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho said yesterday that he doesn’t expect any more signing in January (once the Salah deal is complete) but now it seems there could be few more additions before the transfer window closes down.
According to reports in France, Chelsea are close to signing the highly rated Saint-Étienne defender Kurt Zouma on a five-and-a-half-year contract.
Le 10 sport says that the two clubs have been discussing about the deal for the last few days and though no final agreement has yet been made, but it is understood that Chelsea would be willing pay as high as €15m for the youngster’s signature.
Back in December, we reported about Chelsea’s interest in the 19-year-old. The defender is eligible to play Champions League football this season and is seen as a long term replacement of club skipper John Terry.
Zouma has been left out of St Etienne’s squad to face Bordeaux tomorrow, highlighting that an agreement could possibly be in place.
We will keep you updated about the story, as we get further information…
