Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under huge pressure at Old Trafford.
Despite heavy investments in the summer transfer window, his side failed to make a good start to the 2021-22 season.
The Red Devils suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat against Liverpool and also lost 2-0 to bitter rivals Manchester City last week.
Now according to a report from The Sun, a leading agent has been sounding out potential candidates to replace Solskjaer at United.
It is said that the Premier League giants have drawn up a four-man shortlist to take over if they fire the Norwegian boss from his position.
The list includes the names of Rodgers, Zinedine Zidane, Erik ten Hag and Antonio Conte.
Conte was reportedly keen on the United job but he didn’t want to wait for the position to become available. He accepted the offer from Tottenham Hotspur to replace Nuno Espirito Santo as their new manager.
Zidane is a highly qualified head coach who led Real Madrid to three Champions League titles. However, the French football expert wasn’t interested in taking over at the Red Devils.
While Erik ten Hag also showed reluctance to make a move to the Premier League from Ajax.
However, the Manchester giants have been informed that the agent is confident they could convince Rodgers to come to the Theatre of Dreams.
The 48-year-old twice led the Foxes to fifth-place finishes in his two full seasons at the club. He also guided the East Midlands outfit to their first FA Cup title in 2021.
