Tottenham Hotspur have sacked Nuno Espirito Santo as their manager, according to BBC Sport.
The 47-year-old was appointed as Spurs new head coach in June after Jose Mourinho was dismissed from his position.
He was given a two-year contract by the Londoners with an option to extend for another year.
Spurs made an impressive start to the 2021-22 season under the Portuguese boss, winning their opening three matches in the Premier League.
However, their performances started deteriorating from that point as they lost their following three league games.
The London side are currently eighth in the league table, following their humiliating 3-0 defeat against Manchester United.
The Lilywhites have now sacked Nuno after Saturday’s thrashing at the hands of the Red Devils.
The club’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici said (as per BBC Sport): “I know how much Nuno and his coaching staff wanted to succeed and I regret that we have had to take this decision.”
He added: “Nuno is a true gentleman and will always be welcome here. We should like to thank him and his coaching staff and wish them well for the future.”
Nuno Espirito Santo started his coaching career by serving as an assistant at the Greek side Panathinaikos.
He became the manager of the Portuguese club Rio Ave in 2012, leading them to the Europa League for the first time in their history.
After brief spells at Valencia and Porto, the 47-year-old landed the managerial position at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2017.
Nuno led the Wanderers to Premier League promotion in his first season.
In the following season, Wolves qualified for the Europa League under the Portuguese football expert.
He led the West Midlands outfit to two seventh-place finishes before securing them a 13th spot in the English top-flight.
