Manchester United winger Nani has enjoyed a fantastic season with Sporting Lisbon, but he does not want to spend another season on loan at the Portuguese club.
Nani re-joined his former club on a season long loan as a part of the deal that saw United signing Argentine defender Marcos Rojo in August.
Nani, who has scored 10 goals in 32 games for Sporting this season, says he wants a different challenge next season.
The 28-year-old is under contract at Old Trafford until 2017 but doubts remains whether he will be a part of Van Gaal’s plans for next season.
“The fans asked me to stay but we all know it’s hard,” he told A Bola. “I have a contract with Manchester United and my ambitions are different this time.
“I am very happy to have spent a year at Sporting. It was a great time, helping Sporting where I could and finish in the top three. The rest we’ll see.”
Manchester United have confirmed today that they have agreed a deal to sign Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven. The arrival of the Dutch winger will give Van Gaal plenty of options to chose from but whether Nani gets a chance at Old Trafford next season remains to be seen.
