There is some very good news for Chelsea fans. Reports today have stated that the club have stepped up their bid to land Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund. According to Le 10 Sport, the German midfielder was initially a favourite to sign for Bayern Munich, but may be forced to rethink his plans as a starting place at the Allianz Arena is not certain. Several clubs are interested in buying Reus at the cheap €25 million that he is available, but it looks like Chelsea are the front-runners at the moment.
Italian website Calcio Mercato has said that Jose Mourinho will offer €25 million as well as Andre Schurrle to bring Reus to Stamford Bridge. The Portuguese manager will raise the stakes and it looks like he is getting ready to make Dortmund an offer they can’t refuse.
Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery said in an interview to German magazine Kicker that he felt like he had a few more good years in him. The 32 year-old warned Reus that walking into the side ahead of him will not be a given.
“He’s a great player”, Ribery said about Reus.
“But I’ll still be here. Even though I’m 32 years old, I am still a major player and everyone must be attentive to me. “
