Reports from French media outlet But Football Club has reported that Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori is set for a season long deal deal to French side Bordeaux. The 21 year old Portuguese featured in nine appearances for Spanish side Granada last season and it is now believed that he will have to wait for another season before he makes his debut for Liverpool in front of the vociferous Anfield faithful.
The 21 year old however in a recent interview with Portuguese daily Record said that he wanted to feature for the Reds and that he deserves a chance to prove his quality for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
The highly rated centre back who can also feature out on the left back role came through the youth ranks of Sporting Lisbon signed for the Reds along with French defender Mamadou Sakho on deadline day for a combined fee of £25m.
Ilori is under contract with the English side till 2018 but it is believed that Bordeaux manager and former World Cup finalist Willy Sagnol’s knowhow of the youngster urged the club to sign the player on a loan deal.
