Manchester United were linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio, on more than one occasions in the past and in this January transfer window as well.
The Red Devils have also targeted Juventus midfield duo Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba and according to reports manager David Moyes may move for him in the summer.
According to Gary Jacob of The Times, Tottenham Hotspur are showing keen interest in Marchisio and may make a move for him in this January transfer window as well, provided they offload few players.
One of them could be Etienne Capoue, who is a transfer target of Napoli. Spurs signed him for £9m in the summer from Toulouse but the Frenchman has dropped down the pecking orders behind 19-year-old academy graduate Nabil Bentaleb.
Capoue has made it clear that he seeks first team football and wants to leave White Hary Lane while the player’s representative said that Spurs are asking absurd money for the player.
On the other hand, Spurs could allow record signing Erik Lamela to go out on loan to Juventus as well. In that scenario, they will be in a better position to buy a quality central midfielder like Marchisio, who can play on the left as well.
