According to reports from Express and Star, West Brom are looking to make an approach for Derby County forward Matej Vydra in the summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a memorable 2017/18 campaign where he was the top scorer in the Championship with 22 goals.

However, Derby are still looking to offload him to help ease their financial fair play troubles this summer. Vydra is expected to cost in the region of £11 million and he would demand wages around £35,000-a-week.

Vydra would be a quality signing

The Czech Republic forward is a versatile player, who can play on the left as also behind the striker, is a quality player and would be a terrific signing for the club.

Capable of making killer passes, with Vydra goals are guaranteed. The Baggies could lose either or both Salomon Rondon or Jay Rodriguez this summer, and should they depart, they must not hesitate to sign the former Watford forward.

Vydra didn’t enjoy a successful spell when he joined the Baggies on loan back in 2013/14, but he is now playing at the peak of his form, and West Brom should be able to reap the best out of him if he joins.
