Tottenham are keeping tabs on the French midfielder Boubakary Soumare.
The highly rated player has been linked with a move to Newcastle United as well. The Magpies tried to sign him in January but the move collapsed.
Soumare has been dubbed as the new Pogba because of his playing style and Pochettino sent scouts to watch the player in action earlier this week.
According to Foot Mercato, the Tottenham scouts were impressed with the player’s performance.
It will be interesting to see if the Londoners make a move for the player now.
Juventus are thought to be keeping tabs on the player as well.
The physically imposing 6ft 2ins box-to-box midfielder could be a long term replacement for Dembele at Spurs. However, he will need time to develop and fulfil his potential.
The 20-year-old needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and a move to a big club might not be ideal for him right now.
Spurs have done well to develop young players over the years and Pochettino could help the young midfielder reach his potential.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the summer.
