The Telegraph reported yesterday that Harry Winks could be an option for Aston Villa, and many Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter.

Mike McGrath claimed in his transfer round-up article that the England midfielder is among several targets for Villa to reinforce their midfield options.

James Ward-Prowse, Dwight McNeil and Todd Cantwell are also on their list of potential options.

This could be an interesting transfer window for Villa, with top Premier League clubs looking to prise their star players away.

Manchester City have been reportedly linked with a move for Jack Grealish, while Scotland midfielder John McGinn has emerged as a target for Liverpool.

Many Spurs fans feel that Daniel Levy should include Winks and other fringe players in a swap deal for Grealish. Here are some of the selected tweets:

Winks, an academy product of Spurs, has made over 170 appearances for the club in all competitions since making his debut in 2013.

The English midfielder is known for his excellent technical abilities. He is a good passer and known for his ball retention skills.

However, his form has dipped horribly in recent years, with injuries playing a big role, and he was very poor last season under Jose Mourinho.

Football Insider claimed earlier this month that Spurs want around £30 million for Winks.

Southampton are reportedly keeping tabs on the midfielder, and it seems Villa are also interested in him.

Winks could be tempted to move away from the club to play regularly and resurrect his career.
