While Daniel Sturridge’s potential return from his long term injury would come as a welcome boost for Liverpool, the Reds are also on the verge of announcing of Raheem Sterling’s new long term contract.
Chris Bascombe of the Telegraph claims that the Reds are currently awaiting the outcome of a agency split involving Sterling’s representatives before they can announce the the English youngster’s contract.

It is believed that Liverpool were expected to sign Sterling’s new contract before the end of January but the recent developments have delayed the proceedings. Sterling’s agent Aidy Ward is in the middle of a split from Impact Sports Management. This has complicated the process as a commission will be paid to the representative who facilitates the deal.
The Merseyside giants will need to establish whether the fees will go to Impact or the new agency set up by Ward. Sterling’c contract extension would ward off various European clubs including Real Madrid as he is set to sign a contract worth £100,000 a week.
