Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has completed his free transfer to Premier League side QPR, with the 35-year-old signing a one-year contract at Loftus Road.
Ferdinand, who previously played under Hoops boss Harry Redknapp at West Ham, spent 12 years at Old Trafford prior to the move, and can’t wait to get started in London next season:
“I had a lot of offers from all over the world but the draw for me was to play in the Premier League,” Ferdinand said.
“It’s not about money – I had loads of more lucrative offers available to me.
“I still feel I’ve got something to offer and I’m excited about helping this club cement its place in the Premier League.”
