Former Liverpool forward Paul Walsh believes Fiorentina attacking midfielder Juan Cuadrado is facing a tough choice in selecting Chelsea and Manchester United.
The Colombian international has been a transfer target for the Premier League giants as both the clubs are looking to add the versatile player to their squad in the ongoing transfer window. He was on United’s radar even during the summer transfer window.
Walsh believes there is no club bigger than United, while the Blues are currently the Premier League leaders. Walsh claims Cuadrado will be tempted with the 20-times English champions’ history, despite the west London club being the firm favourites for his signature.
“They’re two great clubs but the history and success of Manchester United you’d have to be tempted,” Walsh told Sky Sports News HQ.
“You’d like to think that if you sign for them at the moment and they qualify for the Champions League that they would be back on their way up.”
“Anything can happen if you’re in all the big competitions so next season could be massively exciting. When Manchester United are at the top of the league there is not a better club in the world. They are up there with Real Madrid.”
A move to Old Trafford will be more beneficial for the South American as Van Gaal is struggling with players with quick legs. Meanwhile, the Blues have several players in the wide position and he has to fight for a place at Stamford Bridge.
It should be seen whether United can beat Chelsea in capturing Fiorentina star’s services before the transfer window shuts on 2 February.
