Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj is closing in on an exit from Old Trafford.
The Belgian winger has struggled to hold down a first-team place at Manchester United and is expected to join Sunderland on loan for next season.
According to reports from Daily Mail, Sunderland are set to loan the talented Premier League winger. The Black cats wanted to seal a permanent transfer but Manchester United have decided that the player is too talented to let go.
It seems that Manchester United are keen to avoid another Paul Pogba situation where they let a top class talent leave for cheap and then break the transfer record to sign him back.
Mail add that Januzaj feels humiliated with his treatment under Mourinho and is ready to complete a move away. The played informed Mourinho that he wants to leave permanently but his wish will not be granted.
Januzaj has been training with the Manchester United reserves after being told that he is not a part of Mourinho’s 26 man squad. The Belgian made up his mind to leave after a face-to-face meeting with manager earlier this summer.
David Moyes remains an admirer of the former Anderlecht player after having helped him break through at United a few seasons ago. The former Manchester United manager gave Januzaj the exposure needed to make the step up to the first team. Moyes gave Januzaj his debut back in 2013.
Januzaj spent last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, but the Belgian failed to impress Thomas Tuchel and spent most of his time in Germany on the sidelines.
At this stage of his career, Januzaj needs to play regular first-team football at the highest level if he is to fulfill his top class potential. A loan away from Old Trafford makes perfect sense for both Manchester United and the player.
Furthermore, playing under a manager who admires and rates Januzaj’s ability can only benefit him.
The Belgian has made 56 appearances for Manchester United so far and the 21-year-old has picked up 5 goals and 7 assists during that time.
