Manchester United have been linked with a Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Armenian was one of the best players in Europe last season and is ready to leave the Germans to join Jose Mourinho’s side.
Mkhitaryan has 12 months left on his current deal and has refused to sign a new contract at Signal Iduna Park. His agent has confirmed that the player wishes to leave for Manchester United.
English newspaper Times are reporting that Mkhitaryan is confident of sealing a move to Manchester United this summer and his agent is convinced that Dortmund will be forced to sell eventually.
Raiola said: “He wants to go to Manchester United and we are still trying to resolve the situation.”
The Germans are reluctant to sell their star midfielder this summer after the transfers of Hummels and Gundogan.
Mkhitaryan is a target for Chelsea and Arsenal as well, but he clearly prefers joining the Old Trafford outfit.
In other news, Jose Mourinho does not want Ryan Giggs as his assistant at Manchester United.
Mourinho demands unwavering loyalty from his staff and the Portuguese is not comfortable trusting someone who turned against Van Gaal and Moyes during the hard times.
Times are reporting that Mourinho fears Giggs might turn into a rival if things don’t go well in future and is ready to get rid of him.
The Manchester United fan favourite distanced himself from Louis van Gaal and David Moyes at crucial times over the last few seasons and his his close relationship with Paul Scholes, who was highly critical of Van Gaal and Moyes has convinced Mourinho that Giggs is not the right man for the job.
The report also adds that Mourinho has not got in touch with the former Manchester United winger ever since he was officially presented as the club’s new manager.
Giggs is still officially the assistant manager at Manchester United and if reports are to be believed, the Welsh coach should be relieved of his duties soon.
