Manchester United are looking to end Cameron Borthwick-Jackson‘s loan spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers next week.

The Old Trafford outfit are unhappy with the treatment of the player and want to bring him back. Borthwick-Jackson has not had too many opportunities under Paul Lambert.

The young left back is very highly rated by Jose Mourinho and Manchester United will now need to agree a deal with Wolves in order to bring him back to the club before the end of the season.

Telegraph are reporting that Manchester United are hopeful of an agreement with Wolves considering the player is not in Lambert’s first team plans. Apparently, the former Aston Villa manager has some reservations about Borthwick-Jackson’s languid manner.

Borthwick-Jackson made his mark at Old Trafford under the tutelage of Louis van Gaal and made 14 appearances under the Dutch manager in his final season.

The report adds that Mourinho is an admirer of the defender and is frustrated with how things have panned out at Wolves for him. If Manchester United can convince Wolves to release the young left back, Borthwick-Jackson is expected to serve as a backup to Luke Shaw for the rest of this season.

Borthwick-Jackson confirmed in a recent interview that Mourinho sees a future for him at Manchester United and believes that he is a ‘top player’.
