Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign French international Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Red Devils will pay around €50 million for the 28-year-old centre-back.

Varane will undergo his medical in Manchester in the next two days.

Varane has entered the final year of his contract, and it is understandable why Madrid have decided to cash in on him.

The player was keen on a new challenge this upcoming season, and Madrid could not afford to lose him on a free transfer next year.

He is undoubtedly one of the best defenders around and could transform United at the back next season.

The former World Cup winner will be a major upgrade on Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly.

His arrival is likely to end Phil Jones’ time at the club, with Newcastle United interested in signing him on a gree transfer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’ side finished second in the Premier League last season and will be expected to go all the way after signing Varane and Jadon Sancho.

Some United fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Varane’s signing – here is what they had to say.
