Manchester City host Norwich City on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium looking to bounce back from the defeat against Chelsea in their last Premier League game.
City have had a stuttering start in the league. They are currently lying in the 7th place with 16 points, six behind league leaders Arsenal. They have only registered three wins in their last 6 Premier League football results, however interestingly they have a strong home record, winning all their four matches which put them as outright favourite to win tomorrow’s match against Norwich as well.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side suffered a heart breaking 2-1 defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last weekend, where Fernando Torres scored the winner in the dying minutes of the match.
First choice goal keeper Joe Hart has been disappointing again after his dreadful mistake left City feeling blue, and could find himself dropped for this clash. In that case, Costel Pantilimon, the second choice keeper, who grabbed the opportunity with both hands against Newcastle in the League Cup in midweek, could be given a chance to impress.
Norwich are struggling badly in the league and are sitting in the relegation zone with just two wins in nine games. The biggest problem of the Canaries is their inability to find goals. They have managed only six goals this season, the lowest in the league. The strike duo of Gary Hooper and van Wolfswinkel have managed to score a combined total of one goal in the league so far that tells the story.
Pellegrini will be without his skipper Vincent Kompany for this match. The Belgian international is close to returning to full fitness but is highly unlikely to feature against Norwich. Likewise, Stevan Jovetic will also miss the tie. The former Fiorentina forward was substituted in the first half against Newcastle United due to an injury.
Possible Man City Line-Up:
Prediction: 4-0, Manchester City have yet to taste a defeat at home and they need a strong reaction too after the defeat against Chelsea. So, expect a strong performance from the home side, and another poor day in the office for the Norwich Boss. Man City are 1/5 to win and 9/1 to win by 4-0 margin with Ladbrokes against Norwich.
