Liverpool are looking to make a move for highly rated Argentine playmaker Javier Pastore this summer.
Pastore has been in and out of the Paris Saint-Germain side over the last couple of season and it is believed that the 26-year-old will consider a move away this summer.
Earlier it was reported that Chelsea are interested in the Argentine attacking midfielder and now the Italian media are claiming that the Blues have already begun discussions with the player’s representatives regarding a summer transfer.
It seems that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the PSG midfielder and is willing to hijack Chelsea’s move.
Liverpool are monitoring Pastore and the young PSG defender Mamadou Doucoure.
According to reports in France, Liverpool have sent their main scout Kevin Hunt to run the rule over the playmaker as well as the defender.
Pastore’s ball retention skills and his intelligence on the counter could be effective under Jurgen Klopp. The midfielder needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and he knows that might not be possible at PSG.
A summer move looks likely, but whether he picks Chelsea or Liverpool remains to be seen.
Regardless, Pastore would be a very good addition to the Premier League. The Argentine is a joy to watch and would relish the style of play in England.
