Liverpool are closing in on the signing of the highly talented Premier League winger Sadio Mane.
The Southampton star is keen on playing for Jurgen Klopp and negotiations between both clubs are ongoing according to Guardian.
The expected fee for the wide forward is thought to be in the region of 30 million pounds.
Mane was close to leaving the club back in January when Manchester United came calling, but Southampton blocked the move.
The Saints are thought to be holding out for a fee of 40 million pounds right now, but the report from Guardian states that they are willing to negotiate. Mane has two years left on his current deal and wants a move away from Southampton.
The Senegal attacker ended the season strongly, scoring eight goals in his last eight games and Jurgen Klopp was impressed with his performances against Liverpool.
Earlier today, Liverpool Echo also claimed that both clubs are in talks and the deal is close, but it will not be finalised before next week.
Mane would add much needed pace to Liverpool’s attack. Furthermore, his versatility would allow Klopp to switch his teams without sacrificing goals or flair.
Meanwhile, as Mane edges closer to Anfield, Joe Allen is on his way out apparently.
The Welsh midfielder wants to leave the club in order to play regular first team football and his former club Swansea are prepared to offer him that.
Liverpool have received an 8 million pounds bid for Allen, but the Merseyside giants are holding out for a higher fee. Swansea’s initial offer has been rejected and Liverpool want to recoup most of the 15 million pounds they paid for Allen.
Allen has had a fantastic Euro campaign so far and his form is likely to attract more attention from his suitors as Liverpool prepare to get rid of him.
When on form, Allen has proven to be a very useful option for Liverpool and it would be surprising to see the Reds let him go after his recent showings in France.
The Welsh midfielder could be a vital part of Klopp’s squad as Liverpool aim to get back into the Champions league. His intelligence, technique, composure and tactical understanding could be handy for Liverpool when they want to see out a game or control the tempo.
