Liverpool have had a fantastic run in the Premier League so far and Jurgen Klopp will be looking to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window.
German media seem to believe that Klopp has already identified his targets and the Liverpool hierarchy are ready to back him financially. SportBild are reporting that Liverpool will allow Klopp to spend around €47m to improve his team during the next few weeks.
The report also reveals some of Klopp’s targets which include the Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Inter Milan forward Gabigol and the talented Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt. It is clear that Klopp is looking for a wide player, maybe as an alternative to Sadio Mane. The former Saints winger is away on international duty with Senegal for the rest of this month.
SportBild are claiming that Leverkusen might agree to sell Brandt if the fee offered is close to €50m. Considering the transfer budget Klopp has, landing Brandt might just be possible this month. Furthermore, the likes of Gabigol and Chamberlain are also affordable for the Reds if their budget is indeed €47m.
Time will tell whether SportBild‘s report is accurate, but there is no doubt that Liverpool must back Klopp in the transfer market if they want to stay in the title race and win trophies at the end of this season.
