Marko Grujic could leave Liverpool to join Sassuolo for just £11 million this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition, July 19).
The 25-year-old midfielder joined the Reds in January 2016.
Jurgen Klopp brought the 12-capped Serbia international to Anfield from Red Star Belgrade for just £5.1 million (BBC).
However, Grujic has never really been given a real chance to prove his worth.
He has spent the last three seasons away from Liverpool on loan with Hertha Berlin and Porto.
And his days on Merseyside could well be numbered.
Mark Grujic to leave Liverpool?
Gazzetta dello Sport reckon that Sassuolo are eyeing a move to sign the Serbian as a potential replacement for Manuel Locatelli if he leaves this summer.
And the Reds could sell Grujic for just £11m, which would be great business for Sassuolo.
The former Red Star ace is a top-class player. Unfortunately for him, things haven’t quite worked out at Liverpool.
He will undoubtedly go on to have an excellent career.
Grujic hasn’t been able to impress Klopp enough to be given a chance at Anfield, and a move away may well be just what he needs to reinvigorate his career.
And according to GDS, that’s exactly what could happen this summer.
