Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to express their reaction to reports linking the club with a move for Danish star Mikkel Damsgaard.
The Whites have been looking to sign a central midfielder this summer, while Marcelo Bielsa could also bolster his attacking areas.
Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher has been linked with a move, and it seems the Whites have now earmarked Damsgaard, who is also attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
According to reports via Il Bianconero, the Yorkshire club have shown interest in signing the 21-year-old.
The Sampdoria midfielder did reasonably well last season for the Italian club, but his stock rose following his outstanding displays in European Championships this summer.
Damsgaard got a lucky break into the side following Christian Eriksen’s collapse and grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
He stamped his authority on the tournament, scoring a spectacular free-kick against England.
Sampdoria want more than €30 million (£25.6m) to sanction his sale, and they are unlikely to lower their valuation.
Many Leeds fans feel that Damsgaard would be a quality addition to the club. Here are some of the selected tweets:

Paper talk.
We have plenty of wingers plus even if he is better than Harrison,Bielsa loves Harrison even if he can be a little inconsistent.
They money would be much better spend on a No 8 which is more of a priority.— PHILIP HOBBS (@PHILIPHOBBS14) July 27, 2021

Rumours of Damsgaard do excite me but I just really think expert depth in CDM or holding midfield is still top of our priorities! If we pulled that off though, it’ll be very interesting to see how we line up next season 🤍💙💛🤜🏼 #ALAW #LUFC

Damsgaard gives the impression of a type of player who is ideally suited for the Premier League, and joining Leeds could be a smart move.
Bielsa has a strong track record for developing young talent, and Damsgaard would have the opportunity to take his game to the next level under a world-class manager.
