Leeds United remain keen on signing Omar Colley from Sampdoria this summer.
According to SampNews24, the Premier League club are prepared to battle it out with West Ham United and other potential suitors to secure the services of the 28-year-old.
The defence has been a major concern for Leeds this past season, with the team conceding 54 goals in 38 Premier League matches.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side finished ninth in the Premier League table, just seven points adrift of a Champions League qualification slot.
The Whites could have easily have challenged for a top-four place with a better defence, and Bielsa must look to bring in a quality defender before the start of the next season.
SL View: Could be a bargain signing for Leeds or West Ham
Colley has proven himself in Serie A with Sampdoria and is at the peak of his career right now.
He could make an immediate impact with the Yorkshire club and improve the team considerably at the back.
The experienced defender will be allowed to leave for a fee of around €10-12 million this summer, and the transfer could prove to be a bargain in today’s market.
West Ham also need defensive reinforcements, and Colley would be an upgrade on the likes of Craig Dawson.
A move to either Premier League club would be ideal for the player, and it would be no surprise to see him move to England this summer.
