Leeds United can now sign Wolverhampton Wanderers ace Adama Traore for just £20 million, The Telegraph journalist Matt Law told the London Is Blue podcast last night.
That represents a whopping £50m reduction on his alleged valuation from last summer (Daily Mail).
Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa will be very keen to bolster his ranks at Elland Road this summer.
It could be argued that the Argentine’s priority should be to strengthen his backline and midfield department.
However, some opportunities are too good to turn down when they present themselves.
Leeds could sign Adama Traore on the cheap
That’s according to Matt Law, who told the London is Blue podcast:
“Wolves have got money problems, Wolves have got issues, and he’s not signed a new contract yet. I think you’re looking at sort of £20 million – £25 million, which is sensible money for a good squad player who can make an impact.”
That seems like outstanding value for a player with Traore’s talent, despite his poor form last season.
The 25-year-old racked up only three goals and three assists in 41 games for Wolves.
However, everyone knows just how good the former Barcelona flyer can be on his day.
There aren’t any quicker players in the game than Traore, and there certainly aren’t any who are more powerful than him.
The winger is an absolute nightmare to defend against, and when the Wolves ace is in his stride, he is unstoppable.
Thierry Henry described him as exactly that when speaking on Sky Sports back in March.
A fee of £20m seems like decent value, and Leeds should not hesitate to make it happen.
Bielsa would undoubtedly be able to get the best out of the Wolves attacker.
