According to reports from the Guardian, Kolo Toure is set to sign one year contract extension at Liverpool. The 34 year old has fallen down the pecking order behind Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho and Emre Can despite manager Brendan Rodgers fielding a three man defense.
Toure is seen as a fringe player for the Anfield side and has made only 7 Premier League starts this season. However despite this, the Ivorian is in line to sign a one year contract extension at the club.
The Reds are set to feature in the Europa League in the coming campaign which means that Toure could get significant game time as Rodgers will prioritize the Premier League and aim for a top four finish.
Toure meanwhile will contest a driving ban after he was found speeding twice last year. The report from Guardian states that the ecntre back was travelling at 57mph in a 40mph zone, and then 72mph in a 50mph zone soon after. As a result he was fined £660, along with costs of £300, and received eight penalty points.
