Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has used an innovative technique to change the mentality of his players.
The team were low on confidence when Klopp took over and one of the first things the German has tried to change is the attitude of his players.
According to Liverpool Echo, Klopp wrote ‘Terrible’ on the tactics board during a team meeting. Most members of the Liverpool squad were concerned that their manager has given them an honest assessment of their performance.
However Klopp then explained that terrible was how their opponents would feel after playing against them for 90 minutes. The former Dortmund man explained the kind of intensity and approach he wants from his players.
Although his side are yet to scale such heights and have been pretty comfortable to play against, there is a sense of togetherness, increasing intensity and desire that is evident.
Liverpool travel to Stamford Bridge this Saturday for their clash against a struggling Chelsea side. The Reds have not won at Stamford Bridge ever since Rodgers took over and Klopp will be hoping to change that.
The German is looking to get his first win as Liverpool manager and could effectively end Mourinho’s Chelsea career with a win this weekend.
