Portugal based newspaper O Jogo has a small update on Anderson Talisca in today’s edition. The Brazilian forward has been linked with a move to Liverpool and there were reports of initial talks being held.
Talisca is a highly talented youngster who can play as a forward or as an attacking midfielder. He has a reported €45m release clause stipulated in his contract.
The Brazilian forward is waiting for the English FA to accept his work permit request in order to move to the Premier League, most likely to Liverpool. He is determined to move and has given up on training with Benfica, although the club revealed fitness issue behind his continuous absence.
Jorge Mendes, his agent, is trying his best to secure a deal for him but the FA has rejected his work permit application because he hasn’t met the criteria for qualification having not played enough for his national team.
However, Mendes will likely to rest the case for Talisca saying he is an exceptional talent and will feature for Brazil in the summer Olympics. The newspaper claims his future is “about to be resolved” but whether it results in a move to the Premier League remains to be seen.
Whatever it is, I really do not think there’s any substance to the story. Liverpool are choc-a-bloc with attacking midfielders at the moment. Sadio Mane has joined the club early this summer while Newcastle’s attacking midfielder Wijnaldum is on the verge of sealing a move. Unless Liverpool sell some of their existing players, it is highly unlikely they would sign any more attacking midfielders at the moment.
