Inter Milan agree deal in principle for Matteo Darmian

Manchester United manager, José Mourinho, is apparently looking to reshape his defense and is willing to get rid of the Italian international Matteo Darmian.

Darmian joined Manchester United last summer under Louis Van Gaal and had a reasonable season. The Italian produced some quality performances and also struggled in some games.

The 26-year-old has made 39 appearances for the Red Devils and could be on his way out of Old Trafford soon.

According to the latest reports, Inter Milan are interested in the Manchester United defender and have already agreed on a deal in principle with the player. Furthermore, the Italian media are claiming that José Mourinho has already give Darmian his marching orders and the player is willing to return to Serie A during January.

Manchester United are already lacking a specialist right back and selling Darmian now would make little sense. If Valencia picks up an injury, Mourinho will have no cover in that position.

Therefore any move might have to wait until the summer transfer window. It is only logical that United will let go of him once they have secured a replacement. If they can sign someone in January, Darmian could be offered an early exit.

Earlier there were reports of Blind, Smalling, and Rojo being on the reject list as well. If recent rumours are to be believed, Mourinho is planning a major defensive overhaul.
