Mexican winger Hirving Lozano is set for a move to Manchester United this summer.
The highly talented winger is currently preparing for this summer’s Olympics in Rio and will complete the transfer after that.
Lozano is regarded as one of the best young talents from his country right now and the Pachuca winger has already bagged 23 goals for his club in the last four seasons.
The player’s father in law confirmed the move earlier and revealed that the player will be announced as a Manchester United signing soon.
“It’s all done,” he said, as quoted by Sky Sports. “It’s just missing some details and then after the Olympics it becomes official.”
But now the player has himself hinted about the transfer and has claimed that he is very excited about the idea of playing for Manchester United.
“Of course the idea [playing for Manchester United] excites me. They are a great team and [to make this into a reality] I must give my best,” Lozano said to Mexican publication Esto En Linea.
The Mexican also added that Jose Mourinho is a great coach and the new Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of the best strikers in the world.
“[Mourinho] is a great coach and [Ibrahimovic] is one of the best strikers in the world”, he concluded.
Manchester United are in desperate need of pace and trickery out wide and Lozano would provide just that. The likes of Depay and Januzaj have struggled to impress and Lozano arriving could also motivate them to improve their performances.
So far, there is no mention of a fee, but considering the hype around the player, it should not be too cheap for the Old Trafford giants.
