Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi is expected to complete his transfer to Manchester United this summer.

According to Independent, he has been allowed some time off from France duty to complete the transfer.

Earlier this week, there were reports that the played had travelled to England for talks and this report certainly backs up those claims from Goal.

After the signing of Krychowiak from Sevilla, the French champions are now ready to let go of Matuidi.

Jose Mourinho wants another defensive midfielder at Manchester United and was linked with a move for Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic. However, it is very unlikely that the Blues will sell one of their star players to a direct rival.

The Portuguese manager is now expected to complete a deal for Matuidi. The 29 year old is a very good player and despite his evident lack of technical ability, Matuidi reads the game very well and could be a vital addition alongside Schneiderlin.

Mourinho has already signed Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

There is no mention of a fee from Independent, but the French international should not cost a lot of money considering his importance at PSG and contract situation.
