Chelsea would grab an early first half lead but Blackburn Rovers would come back in the second half.
The opening goal for Chelsea came from Didier Drogba in the 6th minute to make it 1-0. They would continue to attack but couldn’t find any more goals as it remained 1-0 into halftime. The home side started to pick up their play in the second half and would find an equalizer.
El-Hadji Diouf scored in the 70th minute off a header to tie the match at 1-1. Chelsea was the better team for most of the match but Blackburn played a solid match and made it difficult.
Chelsea would be unable to find a late goal and dropped crucial points that could be the difference in the EPL title race.
