Liverpool striker Christian Benteke is closing in on an exit from Anfield this summer.
The Belgian striker was signed for fee of 32 million pounds last summer, but the former Villa star has failed to deliver in his debut season.
Benteke struggled to fit into Rodgers/Klopp’s systems and was often criticised for slowing down Liverpool’s build up play.
Following the recovery of Daniel Sturridge from injury, the Belgian international never got a chance to prove himself during the second half of the season.
The player is keen on regular first team football and does not want to stay on the bench at Liverpool. The Merseyside giants are keen to get the high earning striker off their books as well.
Benteke is a target for Crystal Palace and Daily Mail have now confirmed that the player has agreed personal terms with the Eagles ahead of a summer transfer.
The 25 year old’s representatives have held talks with Palace and the striker is ready to leave Liverpool for Palace if a fee can be agreed.
The Reds want to recoup around 30 million pounds for the Belgian and Palace should be able to afford that, considering the fact that they submitted a 31 million pounds bid for Michy Batshuayi.
The Marseille star has now joined Chelsea after rejecting the Eagles.
Benteke scored 10 goals for Liverpool last season in 42 appearances.
Latest update: The ever reliable Chris Bascombe from Telegraph is reporting that Liverpool have received a 25 million pounds bid for the Belgian international.
Palace are waiting on a reply from Liverpool and it will be interesting to see Liverpool hold out for more money or sell the player to cut their losses.
