The Premier League have announced the 2021/22 fixtures today.

Arsenal will open the new season against top-flight new boys Brentford before hosting Chelsea at Emirates Stadium and then an away trip to Manchester City.

The first north London derby of the season comes on September 25, with the reverse fixture taking place on January 15.

The Gunners meet Liverpool and Manchester United in quick succession in late November.

The festive schedule will see them go to Norwich on Boxing Day before hosting Wolves on December 28 and then Man City on New Year’s Day.

Last season saw Man City emerge as Premier League winners under Pep Guardiola, followed by Manchester United and Liverpool.

Arsenal were very disappointing last season as they missed out on European qualification.

They had a poor start to the season and never really recovered after that. At times, the Gunners played really eye-catching football, but the consistency in their game was lacking.

Massive summer transfer window ahead

Mikel Arteta needs to bring in more quality players to bridge the gap with other rivals.

The Gunners are expected to offload some of the high earners and fringe players at the club, with David Luiz, Granit Xhaka, William Saliba, Matteo Guendouzi and others likely to be offloaded.

Arsenal have missed out on Emiliano Buendia who joined Aston Villa, but they are working on other targets.

Ben White has been targeted to bolster the defence, while the club have already submitted a bid for Albert Sambi Lokonga.
