The jumps season is getting into full swing and Andrew has suggested bets at Stratford and Ffos Las on Thursday October 28th as well as selection at Chelmaford’s all-weather evening meeting:
STRATFORD 12.55
COLLEGE OAK (system – Jamie Snowden young handicap chasers angle)
Jamie Snowden does well in handicap chases with his young horses (those aged six or younger), scoring with 35 of the 206 runners (17%) for a small profit of £12.83 to a £1 level stake at SP. If we knock out those who were running in the depths of winter (November to January) his record improves to 26 from 135 (19.3%) for a profit of £46.98. COLLEGE OAK has the prominent running style which is so effective at Stratford and looks backable despite disappointing at Fontwell on his return to action. That run, his first over fences, was probably needed and the ground was much softer than he prefers.
FFOS LAS 4.50
ACEY MILAN (systems – sire Milan first run after wind op & Anthony Honeyball handicappers after wind surgery)
Progeny of Milan often improve for a wind operation and had we backed them on their first start following the surgery we would have won 16 of our 77 bets and made a profit of £122.38 to a £1 level stake at SP. Trainer Anthony Honeyball also does well with his handicappers on their first start following wind operations, scoring with five of the 15 qualifiers for a profit of £19.25 to £1. ACEY MILAN qualifies on both angles, goes well when fresh and should be thereabouts on his seasonal return.
CHELMSFORD 8.30
ZULU GIRL (system – sire Lethal Force in Polytrack handicaps)
Backing all progeny of the sire Lethal Force in Polytrack handicaps would have found 62 winners from 392 bets (15.8% strike-rate) for a profit of £73.33 to a £1 level stake at SP. Throw in the proviso that they must have been drawn in stall 6 or lower and the strike-rate and profit improve to 19.2% and +£81.63. More interestingly, ZULU GIRL looks set to receive a relatively easy lead in a small-field contest at Chelmsford, a track that was massively favouring early pace at last week’s meeting. She can make all.
