Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos has pledged a donation of £75,000 to help the underprivileged families in Colombia during the Coronavirus pandemic.

The striker’s agent took to Twitter to confirm the news.

His tweet read:

Morelos has been in the news for his temperament issues all season but his classy gesture will certainly impress his fans and rivals.

Currently, there have been over 1200 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Colombia.

Authorities across the globe are battling to end the pandemic as soon as possible but there hasn’t been a breakthrough just yet.

Coronavirus has had a huge impact on football as well. Almost every major European league has been suspended following the outbreak.

There is no fixed date when football will return. The leagues are expected to resume when it is safe to do so. However, SPFL have hinted that they could end the season abruptly.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks.

Rangers are still involved in the title race and Alfredo Morelos will be hoping to lead them to glory when all of this is over.

The striker has been linked with a summer exit and this could well be his final season at Ibrox.

Here is how the Rangers fans have reacted to Morelos’ gesture earlier.
