Inter Milan’s Stefan de Vrij has reportedly told his friends that he wants to join Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.
The 29-year-old played an important role in helping the Nerazzurri to win the Serie A title last season.
He clocked up 32 appearances in the top-flight last campaign when Antonio Conte was at the helm of affairs at the San Siro.
De Vrij has been impressive this season as well, with the defender making 11 Serie A appearances and playing four Champions League games so far.
He was linked with a move to Tottenham a few weeks ago, with their new manager Conte said to be an admirer of the 29-year-old.
The ex-Chelsea boss has reportedly told his employers to sign the Netherlands international.
And as per a report from Football Insider, the former Lazio player has told his friends he is keen to join Spurs in January.
He has also asked them for more information about the Premier League club and about life in London.
The Dutchman’s current contract at the San Siro is set to expire in 2023 and he is said to be valued at around £40 million by the Italian outfit.
De Vrij is a highly talented defender who is capable of shining in the Premier League. He is known for his technical ability, concentration, and positioning.
He joined Inter Milan in the summer of 2018. Since his arrival at the club, he has clocked up 139 appearances across all competitions, scoring eight goals and creating six assists in the process.
