The best feature of any transfer window is, there is always twists and turns in almost every report you read. For example, take a look at the case of Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez.
The highly talented Barcelona winger is one of those few players who could leave the Catalan club in the summer. The Chilean winger is strongly linked with a move to Juventus, with Tuttosport reporting, a five-year-deal has already been agreed with the player, who is currently focussing on World Cup preparations in Brazil.
However, according to Italian newspaper La Stampa, Manchester United have joined the race and have opened talks with Barcelona, over a possible €25m move for the Chilean.
Probably no other Premier League club have given more emphasis to wing plays than Manchester United, with the iconic club having produced legendary wingers – Best, Beckham, Giggs, Ronaldo et al over the years. So, from that point of view, a move for Sanchez makes a lot of sense, especially when some of the wingers from the current bunch have been hugely disappointing last season.
Premier League rivals Liverpool had also shown an interest in the player, with Italian radio station, Sport Mediaset, reported earlier that Liverpool were preparing a formal bid for the winger. The Times journalist Tony Barrett also reported that Reds manager Brendan Rodgers would prefer to move for Sanchez, should any possibility of the 25-year-old leaving the Nou Camp arise.
