Southampton’s highly rated left-back Luke Shaw is aware of interest from top Premier League clubs, but remains focused on the immediate task at hand with the Saints.
The highly rated English left-back could be the subject of a bidding war in the summer, with several top clubs, including Real Madrid, reportedly joining the race to sign him.
The 18-year-old has been in spectacular form this season and, after making his debut for England in February, the youngster looks a likely candidate for Roy Hodgson’s squad for the World Cup in Brazil.
Shaw has been regularly linked with Chelsea in the last few months, with The Mirror claiming in February that Jose Mourinho wishes to complete his signing before the World Cup.
The youngster, who supported Chelsea as a boy, attracted strong interest from Manchester United as well.
During the January transfer window, Manchester United had a reported £22.5m bid for Shaw rejected, while Liverpool and Manchester City were also credited with an interest for the Southampton prodigy.
Shaw is aware of the speculations going on about his future, but remains unperturbed by such media attention.
The Express reports Shaw as saying: “There is not a club I am not linked with, but I don’t focus on that.
“My main focus is my football on the pitch and I just want to keep doing that.
“It doesn’t really bother me the attention I get. I just stay focused on my game on the pitch. Whatever is said is said.
“Stuff like that is going to happen but my main priority is the games. We’ve still got six left, so all the focus is on that.”
Saints manager Mauricio Pochettino will be pleased with such comments from the youngster, but Shaw doesn’t explicitly state his desire to stay at the club, which will only fuel ongoing speculations.
