Liverpool will be very confident of qualifying for the Champions League next season, and it seems that they have already started preparing for the summer transfer window. The Merseysiders are said to be interested in Napoli duo Gokhan Inler and Valon Behrami.
Swiss website Infoticker.ch has reported that the Napoli midfielders, who will take part in this summer’s World Cup with the Swiss national team, are on Liverpool’s radar.
Manager Brendan Rodgers will need to start looking for a viable replacement for captain Steven Gerrard, who cannot go on forever. Gokhan Inler could be a candidate.
The 29-year-old has played 40 games for Napoli this season, scoring four and providing three assists. Inler was also a target during former England manager Roy Hodgson’s reign at Anfield.
Inler’s Napoli teammate Valon Behrami has a contract until 2017 and is also attracting interest from Liverpool. However, it seems unlikely that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis would give the green light to the sale of both players during the summer.
