The situation regarding David Moyes at Manchester United is set to plummet to new depths, or rather heights, with angry fans set to send a plane carrying a huge ‘Moyes Out’ banner over Old Trafford at the next home game against Aston Villa.
The banner, which will read ‘The Wrong One – Moyes Out’, is in response to the existing message within the ground, ‘The Chosen One’, which was in danger of being ripped down in the 3-0 derby loss to Manchester City on Tuesday.
United have endured their worst ever campaign of the Premier League era in what is David Moyes’ first season in the hot-seat, and any remaining support he had from the fans seems to have evaporated with the defeat to their bitter rivals.
One fan appeared to be heading towards the Scot, his fist raised, when intercepted by a steward during the humiliating loss, while a torrent of abuse rained down upon the United hierarchy, including some directed at former manager and club legend Sir Alex Ferguson regarding his involvement in appointing Moyes in the summer.
The Guardian have reported that nearly £1000 has been raised through the ‘Red Issue’ website to send the aforementioned banner over the stadium this weekend, but they have denied any hand in concocting the plan.
To clarify: Red Issue has nothing to do with any plans for any banner, Moyes-related or otherwise.

Regardless of the source, if the aerial protest does go ahead as expected, it will mark the first standout effort made by fans to have their beleaguered manager removed from his post.
