Putting Your Skin on the Game
Once you’ve downloaded your shiny new skin what’s the last you want to be doing? Faffing around trying to get it working that’s what! So I’ve devised a mini tutorial on how to correctly implement an FM skin onto your game to save you some time and hassle.
- First of all you will need to download the skin but don’t worry too much about the location you save it to, just remember where you put it!
- For the majority of skin downloads you will need WinRAR to be able to install the files. So if you don’t already have it, you can find it here.
- Once downloaded, right click on the file, choose the WinRAR option and then click ‘Extract Files…’
- You will need to set the destination path as this: ‘C:Documents and SettingsYour Account NameMy DocumentsSports InteractiveFootball Manager 2010skins’
- Click ‘OK’ to extract the files to the specified folder.
- Once all the files have been extracted, you can now load up FM 2010!
- Once FM has loaded up, go to ‘Preferences’ and then the ‘Display and Sound’ section and hopefully the skin you have just downloaded will now be available next to the ‘Skins’ tab.
- Once you have selected your desired skin, make sure ‘Use Skin Cache’ is unticked, click confirm and voila!
If you know of any other decent sites that have a variety of FM skins available or even if you just want to tell us your personal favourite skins then do let us know in the comments bar below!
The above article applies to FM 2010 but is also valid for earlier or future versions of the game.
