Werder Bremen have said that even though interest in Mesut Ozil from top clubs exists, no bids have been made.
Ozil is on the radar for many clubs across Europe, including Manchester United, after an impressive World Cup campaign with Germany, and according to general manager Klaus Allofs, a transfer is still on the cards. Speaking to BILD, Allofs stated:
“There are many clubs interested in Mesut, but none of these clubs have made an offer as yet. Should there be an offer on the table, we would consider it. Everything is still possible at the moment.”
So, there is still a chance of Ozil appearing in the Premier League this forthcoming season. It’s just a matter of the right club coming forward with the right money. One player definitely staying at the Weserstadion though is potential Arsenal target Per Mertesacker, that’s again according to Allofs:
“I have already said on a couple of occasions that Per will be staying on at our club and will go on playing for Werder Bremen.”
