Brazilian midfielder Ramires is close to completing a £17 million move to Chelsea, according to the BBC.
The 23 year-old was featured in Brazil’s World Cup side in South Africa earlier this summer, during which he pulled off some rather impressive appearances. He’s reportedly due to undergo a medical sometime today, and should complete his move from Benfica by the end of the week.
The Portuguese club paid just over £6 million for the play-maker last year, meaning a healthy profit. Although, transfer talks regarding Ramires have been more than complicated recently, with the known fact that an English based businessman owns a 50% stake in the player.
If the transfer is in-fact completed in time with no further complications, Ramires could feature in the Chelsea squad who kick-off their Premier League campaign against West Brom on August 14.
