Everton have announced the signing of Morgan Schneiderlin from Manchester United.
The French international has been handed the number 2 shirt at Goodison Park, previously worn by Tony Hibbert.
Schneiderlin had failed to establish himself as a regular starter under Jose Mourinho and is hoping to kick-start his career once again under his former manager Ronald Koeman. The Dutch manager brought the best out of Schneiderlin at Southampton.
The defensive midfielder made a total of 47 appearances for the Red Devils following his £25m move from the Saints in July 2015. Although he was a starter under former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, he never quite managed to replicate his Southampton form at Old Trafford.
The 27-year-old has signed a four and a half year contract with the Merseyside outfit and is expected to be in the Everton squad to face Manchester City on Sunday.
The Toffees have already signed Ademola Lookman and Schneiderlin so far and are looking to tie up a deal for Ishak Belfodil as well.
